Kathleen Moriarty, Master of Science in Information Security & Assurance (MSISA) Advisory Board member within the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS) at Norwich University, was selected from a field of 1,000 cybersecurity professionals to the prestigious “Women Know Cyber” book for educators and professionals, which is distributed to cybersecurity industries nationwide.
“I am honored to be included among the impressive women named as the 100 Fascinating Females Fighting Cybercrime,” Moriarty said. “The industry is at a pivotal point in terms of a shifting architecture and set of standards supporting information security to prevent cybercrime. Students emerging from programs such as Norwich University's MSISA have the opportunity to also impact a reduction in threats while also reducing the resource intensive nature of managing security programs to improve the overall security posture.”
Moriarty, of Arlington, Mass., is honored as one of the top 100 females taking up the battle against cybercrime in solving data manipulation, cybertheft, ransomware and other cyber problems threatened against American citizens. Her actions, as well as those of her female colleagues, are changing the way the U.S. addresses both personal and national security.

Cybersecurity is a top threat and vulnerability for the U.S. defense and business markets due to increasing and more aggressive hacks, identity thefts, malware data breaches and other damaging cyber incidents.

About Kathleen Moriarty
Kathleen Moriarty is a global lead security architect with Dell EMC Office of the CTO, working on technology strategy and standards. During her tenure in the office of the CTO, Kathleen served as the IETF security area director from 2014 – 2018. She is a curriculum advisor at Georgetown University for its SCS MPS Applied Intelligence Programs and chairs the Coordinating Attack Response at Internet Scale (CARIS) workshops aimed at improving the overall security posture and tackling the information security professional deficit.
Prior to her role at Dell EMC, Moriarty achieved over a decade of experience driving positive outcomes across technology leadership, project management, large teams, process improvements, IT strategy and vision, information security, and operations management in multiple roles with MIT Lincoln Laboratory, FactSet Research Systems and PSINet. She holds a Master of Science in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Siena College.
Moriarty’s industry and field experience and expertise help to provide guidance as an advisory board member for the Master of Science in Information Security & Assurance program.
