Norwich University President Richard W. Schneider announced that 146 students will be enabled to continue their education despite the suspension of financial aid through the military tuition assistance (TA) program administered by the federal government.

Currently enrolled in the fall semester in bachelor’s degree completion programs and graduate programs at the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, these students are in the United States military while enrolled online in two bachelor’s degree programs – the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and the Bachelor of Science in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis – and online master's degree programs.

“Keeping these men and women in class, advancing their education and leadership skills this semester is of the upmost importance,” said CGCS Dean William Clements. “Norwich University will step up to financially support these students who have made the ultimate commitment to serve our country.”

Norwich President Schneider has authorized approximately $150,000 so that 146 students in the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies who are presently enrolled in the fall semester will be awarded a tuition scholarship to replace TA funds in the event that those funds are not restored before classes begin in the next part of the term. The next part of term begins October 28 for bachelor’s degree students and December 2 for master’s students. This affects students in seven of the nine master’s programs and both bachelor’s degree completion programs.
