For students enrolled in Norwich University’s online bachelor’s degree completion programs, there may be even more reason to earn a master’s degree from Norwich.

The College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS) is proud to award Merit Scholarships to select graduates from the online bachelor’s degree programs. One graduating student per degree conferral date each year – three students in total - will be awarded a $7,500 scholarship to be used toward a Norwich master’s degree.

Norwich is committed to helping working adults achieve their educational goals with the flexibility they need. “The Merit Scholarship was created as one way to give our students the opportunity to continue developing themselves personally and professionally,” said John Kunelius, director of admissions at CGCS. “We are dedicated to making the next step a bit more affordable for our students.” 

Norwich University’s online bachelor’s degree completion programs often serve as a stepping stone to pursuing one of Norwich’s nine master’s degree programs. With the same flexible online format as Norwich’s degree completion programs, a master’s degree can be completed in as little as 18 months.

To date, nearly 40% of Norwich’s SSDA alumni have gone on to pursue a master’s program. Chief Warrant Officer 4 Terry Shelton was the first graduate from the Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis program to both receive and use this Merit Scholarship. Shelton completed his Master of Arts in Diplomacy in June of 2014.

Eligibility for the Merit Scholarship is determined by the program manager, based on students’ GPA, feedback from their instructors, and their scholarship application statement.
