Abstract:

This paper argues that next to other effective counterterrorist practices, global de-radicalization programs out of educational institutions and schools can be valuable additions to Counter Terrorism programming. The paper contends that legally supported educational curricula for children and adolescents will enhance assertiveness and strength from within. Students will be more able to withstand recruitment tactics of terrorist recruiters. The paper finally concludes that this strategy can only fully succeed if we continue to improve global cooperation, synchronization, coordination and experience sharing with Public Diplomacy at local levels.
