Abstract:

Habeas corpus (also termed Great Writ, or simply writ of habeas corpus) has been important for various reasons all throughout history in constitutional litigation as well as in legal scholarship. This paper will briefly address the writ of habeas corpus, in light of modern history issues such as the suits and petitions arising out of the detention of alleged terrorists at the U.S. prison at Guantánamo Bay, on the island of Cuba.
