Abstract:

Social networking has provided business continuity planners a valuable tool for communication and information gathering during a crisis. The complexity of social networking platforms, however, requires that they be leveraged only in conjunction with a clearly defined strategy. This article applies and expands upon the POST strategy developed by Josh Bernoff of Forrester Research and discusses how current competitive intelligence practices can enhance the value of social networking to an organization’s continuity efforts.
