Abstract:

This presentation is a cursory overview of implicit social cognition, commonly known as subconscious racial bias, and how it affects the attitudes of people working in our increasingly diverse world. The intent of covering this subject is to promote awareness of subconscious bias in leaders and employees and incorporate training to combat it in the workplace. Further, this presentation gives examples that aim to advocate for organizations to add subconscious bias training into their self-awareness and cross-cultural awareness training curriculum for leaders.
