Abstract:

This paper looks at the development of the Anglo-American alliance from the time of American independence to the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Through the cooperation and determination of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill, an alliance was formed that benefited not only the United States and Great Britain, but also the international community, with the creation of NATO and the United Nations. These two countries, which started out as enemies, formed an alliance that has gone beyond the expectations of even its creators. The Anglo-American alliance has reached a mythical status because, despite the arguments over policy and strategy, clashes of strong personalities, and general tensions, it has succeeded in becoming one of the most influential alliances in history.
