Michael D’Ambrosio

Michael D’Ambrosio is a Deputy Assistant Director in the Office of Investigations.  In his current position, Mr. D’Ambrosio oversees the planning and coordination of domestic and international criminal investigations involving counterfeiting, financial, electronic and cybercrimes.  These investigations include the counterfeiting of US and foreign currency, bank fraud, money laundering, mortgage fraud, access device fraud, electronics communications fraud, computer fraud, network intrusions and identity crimes. 

Mr. D’Ambrosio currently provides strategic oversight to the 141 Secret Service domestic and 21 foreign field offices.  Additionally, Mr. D’Ambrosio is responsible for the administration and resourcing of 40 Electronic Crime Task Forces (ECTF) and 46 Financial Crimes Task Forces (FCTF). Mr. D’Ambrosio began his Secret Service career in 1997, as a Special Agent assigned to the New York Field Office, after serving 5 years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps.  Mr. D’Ambrosio has since served in numerous supervisory positions which include Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the Vice Presidential Protective Division, Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Investigative Division, Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the James J. Rowley Training Center, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office and the Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Investigative Division. Mr. D’Ambrosio served as the National Special Security Event coordinator for the visit of Pope Francis to New York in September 2015 and was selected as the Assistant Detail Leader for Candidate Trump during the 2016 Campaign. 

Mr. D’Ambrosio obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from Siena College, Albany, NY   In addition he holds a Master of Science Degree in National Security Strategy with a concentration in Cyber Security from the National War College, as well as a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati.  In January 2015, he completed The Key Executive Leader Certificate program at American University’s School of Public Affairs.  In addition, Mr. D’Ambrosio is an adjunct professor at Norwich University in the undergraduate Criminal Justice and Cyber Security program.
